Breakfast and lunch only spot in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. They'll deliver to your office door and offer a weekly specials menu of sandwiches, salads, pasta, and more. My chicken club sandwich on ciabatta was good- a thin sliced seasoned chicken chicken breast grilled and topped with bacon, tomato, greens, and an herb mayo. The fries were great! Hot, salty, greasy goodness in the form of thin fast-food style slices. Plenty of umbrella shaded tables on the patio offer guests a retreat from the fluorescent lights. Pleasant but a tad forgetful service-wise, and overall quality is nothing to brag about. Open weekdays til 3pm- walk there or utilize the metered street parking or city lot next door.

Let me preface by stating this review is for Cafe Verdi Express only. If there were a way to give Express no stars I would do it. Giving them one star is an insult to the other one-star eateries. I ordered orange juice and a blueberry muffin. I was disappointed to find myself biting into an Otis Spunkmeyer muffin that was nearing its expiration date, which is saying a lot for a vending machine pastry. What turned us off however were the pancakes my husband ordered. They arrived fifteen minutes after we ordered them, and I was immediately suspicious when I noted their uniform size. The first pancake was rubbery with crisp edges. The second was impenetrable. I mean that literally. It hardened so quickly my spork was unable to pierce it. I cannot fathom serving microwave pancakes to anyone, let alone featuring them on the menu and charging for them. There is simply no excuse for that, and that's why they get the lowest rating allowed on Yelp. Shame on you, Cafe Verdi.

I usually come here for lunch since I work around the corner. I have never been to their Sera Wednesdays so can't comment on that. The food is ok, nothing spectacular (your typical Italian food); the service can be kind of slow but efficient depending on who you have serving you. Only reason I come here is because it's walking distance from work and there are not many other places to eat

I've only been there for their Wednesday happy hour (called Sera Wednesdays, 5:30-8:30) but I love it. Each Sera Wednesday, the chef creates a limited tapas menu (about 7 options), and I have never had anything short of delicious. The bruschetta is among the best I have ever tasted. Their beer menu rotates fairly regularly as well. I will be a regular on Wednesday evenings.

The food is standard, nothing stand out. They do skimp on some items in the food--like shrimp. It is what we will accept for lunch during the workweek, but not much more.

Very nice staff. Great place for morning coffee and excellent cruasans!

Not too impressed. Choose the "express" side of the building, food was mediocre, and was barely warm for the 12p lunch crowd.

when i was a broward resident i was a regular at their sera wednesdays.. .. a late night happy hour. they always have a rotation of specialty (and yummy) beer i have never heard and super creative tapas. a dj is there to provide some nice jams for folks to chill out to if you choose to sit on the nice patio.... ask for javier when you go - he will take great care of you!

Meh. Nothing really wowed me about this place and the fact that they were rushing us out because apparently their hours aren't what is listed on Yelp kinda made me not want to ever return. From what I understand, the food quality used to be much higher here but years later it doesn't seem like the chef is still going to purchase fresh ingredients on a daily basis because nothing about our sandwich or pasta screamed 'fresh'. Honestly, the food is decent and if it wasn't for the lackluster customer service I would consider returning, but the one time bad experience was enough to make me look elsewhere for a lunch time spot in the area.

Absolutely unpredictable schedule post hours open til 3, sometimes 2, sometimes 230. Waitress has an attitude and does what she wants. Arrived at 2 today turned away because they were" slammed ". Place had one person. Three more came turned away. Owner shrugged it off and apologized limply. I will never spend a penny there again and have spent hundreds over 5 years! Time to close if you don't want the business!

I order delivery at least once a week - I always get pesto penne with chicken and it's always amazing. The chicken is actual grilled chicken, not that nasty rubbery stuff. The bread is also great. I haven't been there in person yet, but am planning to go soon!

Not impressed with my main dish, and neither was the person I went with. But the bread they brought out beforehand was pretty good. Not sure where they get it from, but it might be worth find out. The best part is sitting on their "deck" under one of their giant umbrellas on a sunny day.

Today I have had the best flounder in the history of ever. I am not given to flights of fancy, I am an objective person and this was the best lunch I can remember having. I forget the name of the dish, but it was a fried lightly battered flounder with sweet onions marinated in some kind of soy sauce. It was just phenomenal. I was literally licking the dish. Yes, it was embarrassing, but I didn't care, I just had to have every drop of that delicious concoction. Plus I took the food to go and I was in my office. I wanted to back to the restaurant and tell the cheff what a glorious dish he/she had created today. I was not sure that this persons enthusiasm would match my own however, so I thought I would express myself in writing, plus this way this moment of sheer pleasure can me immortalized in the interwebs.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
